Strengthening Partnership with Shaw Cricket Club
Tuesday 7th July 2026
As part of Trade Centre UK’s Community Engagement Programme (CEP), Community Ambassador Mike Doyle and the CEP team recently visited Shaw Cricket Club on the outskirts of Oldham, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and grassroots organisations.
The team received a truly warm northern welcome from the moment they arrived at the clubhouse.
“Hello lads, do you fancy a brew and a bacon bap?” was the greeting that set the tone for the day.
“Well, how could anyone resist that?” joked Mike.
The visit highlighted everything the Community Engagement Programme stands for – building meaningful relationships, celebrating community spirit, and supporting organisations that make a genuine difference to local people.
The CEP team spent time with the club’s directors discussing the future, community initiatives and opportunities to strengthen the partnership even further. One of the standout moments was seeing three generations represented around the table, including the club’s youngest attendee – a beautiful baby boy proudly accompanied by his mum. It was a wonderful reminder that clubs like Shaw Cricket Club are about much more than cricket; they are at the very heart of their communities.
Discussions also focused on the club’s upcoming annual Fireworks Display, with planning already well underway. In a fantastic gesture of generosity, Shaw Cricket Club has committed to donating all of its fireworks tickets to the Madlo Centre, ensuring local young people can enjoy what promises to be another memorable community event.
Mike Doyle said:
“Every visit reminds us why the Community Engagement Programme is so important. Shaw Cricket Club is a brilliant example of what can be achieved when passionate volunteers come together to support their community. The welcome we received was second to none, and it’s clear this club has an incredible future. We’re proud to be part of that journey.”
Trade Centre UK sponsor the cricket club and the club has also extended invitations to the CEP team to attend future fundraising events and has generously offered full hospitality throughout the cricket season.
Safe to say, there may be a few new cricket fans within the Trade Centre UK team before the summer is over.
Trade Centre UK is proud to support Shaw Cricket Club through a three-year sponsorship commitment, made possible thanks to the vision and generosity of founder, Mark Bailey.

Trade Centre UK’s Community Engagement Programme continues to build lasting partnerships with charities, community groups and grassroots sports organisations across the UK, ensuring the company’s commitment to giving back has a meaningful and lasting impact wherever it operates.
