Trade Centre UK Sponsors Successful NSPCC Pedalo Challenge
Tuesday 18th June 2024The NSPCC Pedalo Challenge has hit the canals of Birmingham once again to raise essential funds for the child protection charity. Organised by the NSPCC West Midlands Business Board for the second year running, and sponsored by Trade Centre UK, eight teams on Friday, 14th June, raced along Birmingham Canal outside Noel’s Bar, where each team was required to raise money to take part.
Emily Allen, Chair of the NSPCC West Midlands Business Board, said, “We had an absolutely brilliant day on Friday at Noel’s Bar, racing the iconic swan pedalos, with the aim to beat Freddie Flintoff’s world record. It was a great day with so much money raised, and the cherry on top was beating the world record and, more importantly, raising a whopping £4,500.”
Participants were driven by a shared goal: to raise vital funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). The enthusiasm and dedication of all involved were palpable, culminating in an impressive £4,5k raised (and counting). This financial support will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the NSPCC’s efforts to protect and support vulnerable children across the UK.
A highlight of the day was the thrilling moment when Freddie Flintoff’s previous record was shattered. Competitors gave their all, and a new world record for the 100 metres in a pedalo was proudly established. The electric atmosphere, filled with cheers and applause, perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the event.
Mark Bailey, the founder and owner of Trade Centre UK, expressed his pride in supporting the challenge, stating, “It’s an honour for Trade Centre UK to sponsor such a fantastic event. The NSPCC Pedalo Challenge not only brings our community together but also supports a cause that is close to our hearts.
